At first the game was evenly balanced & then a thunderous 25 yard strike from Clowes opened the deadlock. From here on Grantham stepped up the tempo with some quick play and ECFC defended stoutly including our keeper to hold off the pressure until a well worked goal evened the scores - 1-1.
This was shortly overturned when Charlie Crofts scored well with bravery sliding in from a corner to make it 2-1.
Second half ECFC played more on the front foot creating chances, however Grantham were dangerous on the counter attack with both teams creating chances they should have perhaps taken. It was Eastwood though who had been more clinical, a good counter attacking move had seen Leo Robinson receive the ball high up the pitch to beat his man and curl the ball past the keeper with aplomb. to lead 3-1.
This was then followed by the move of the game, great build up play from back to front starting with our keeper, & transitioning forward which saw Jaden Mandondo receive the ball to round the keeper superbly well whilst under pressure. He then slotted home for a deserved 4-1 win.
Credit to our opponents who are a good side & made us work for the 3 points..
