Eastwood CFC Under 21’s played their first fixture since April 2022 on Monday evening under new management and a realigned club structure.

Glapwell were the visitors to Coronation Park and they made a great start to the game taking an eleventh minute lead capitalising on a lapse in concentration in the Eastwood back line.

The Red Badgers were soon level Finlay Hayes finishing off a well worked move smashing home a side footed effort from six yards out.

The equaliser galvanised the hosts as they took control of the game and took the lead before half time through Ashley Nkomazana.

The second half was much more open but Glapwell rarely troubled the reds back four. Christian Ugiagbe dominating in the middle of the pitch with Shiloh Atkinson’ pace causing all sorts of problems.

A much sterner test in the form of Step 7 side Cotgrave awaits the young guns.
