Zander Shayler21 Jan - 12:43

The Under 21's bounced back from defeat last time out with an emphatic win.

Willis Francis made two changes from the side that lost to Clay Cross Town a week ago. Tallen De Miguel and Zakai Walters returned to the starting XI for the first time this year. Owen Hayes and Jamie Bogg dropped to the bench.

Tallen marked his return with a goal after just ten minutes, after Reuben Clowes drove forward and his shot was blocked, the ball fell to Tallen who turned his man before picking out the bottom corner.

Nine minutes later Eastwood doubled their lead, Morris-Wright ball over the top was timed to perfection to meet the run of Alfie Upton who touched the ball past the goalkeeper.

With twenty-six minutes on the clock it was three. Reuben Clowes raced onto a loose back pass and rounded the keeper before walking the ball into the empty goal.

Shortly after Hodgkinson short corner was played to Alfie Upton who dinked the ball to the back post for Daniel Utley to glance home.

Clowes completed his hattrick before half time with two goals in six minutes, first a carbon copy of the second goal as Morris-Wright played the ball forward this time for Clowes to run on to and finish past the keeper. The sixth goal came as Toby Woodward battled hard to win the ball back and his cross picked out Clowes who tapped home.

HT ECFC 6-0 South Normanton

Francis made four changes at the early stages of the second half but this didn’t affect Eastwood’s control as it was soon 7-0. One minute after coming on Owen Hayes was on the scoresheet, a well worked short corner was eventually crossed in by Miguel and poked home by Hayes.

Eastwood weren’t done there, the ball broke for Alfie Upton who shot was too hot for the keeper to handle and he pushed the ball right into the path of Shiloh Atkinson who made it eight.

Substitute Atkinson had his second minutes later, Daniel Utley’s long pass evaded the visitors defence and Atkinson latched on to it and finished calmly into the back of the net.

There was still enough time for Eastwood to get into double figures. Toby Woodward got a goal his performance deserved after battling to win the ball back and turning on the edge of the post and firing into the corner.
